Hackathon 2 — Path 3 of 3

Collab

Improve a shared template and publish your remix

🕐 15–25 minutes · Start from a community template · Document and share your changes

What this path involves

The Collab path is built on the idea that great tools improve through iteration. You'll start from a shared community template — a chatbot system prompt, a red-team checklist, or an automation guide — make it better for your context, publish your version, and document what you changed and why.

Your remix becomes part of a living library of practitioner resources. The change-log you write is just as valuable as the artifact itself — it helps the community understand how these tools evolve through real use.

Craft a Remix

🕐 15–25 min

Craft a Remix

Pick one of the starter templates above (or the full library). Open it, use it, improve it for your context, and publish a new version. Your change-log is the most important part of your submission — it's what other practitioners learn from.

Steps:

  1. Browse the starter templates and pick one that's relevant to your work or interests.
  2. Click Open template to open it in Claude.
  3. Use it for a few minutes on a real or hypothetical task — get a feel for what it does and doesn't do well.
  4. Identify 1–3 things you'd change: language that doesn't fit, a missing step, a misaligned assumption, or an improvement for your population or context.
  5. To make your changes: Right-click the Customize button (top right of the artifact) and select "Copy link." Paste the copied link into a new browser tab and press Enter — this opens an editable Claude conversation with the template pre-loaded. Type your changes directly into the chat.
  6. To publish your remix: Click the Share button (↗) in the top-right corner of the artifact panel and copy the public link.
  7. Write a brief change-log: 1–3 bullets describing what you changed and why.

⚠️ Note: Clicking Customize directly may not work in all browsers. Right-click → copy link → paste in a new tab is the most reliable approach.

Include in your submission:

  • Link to the original template you started from
  • Link to your published remix
  • Your change-log (1–3 bullets)
  • One-line description of the core improvement you made
  • Ethics check + 140-character reflection

Before you submit

Every Collab submission needs these elements:

  • One-line need or claim — what did you improve, and for whom? (max 140 characters)
  • Based-on template link — the URL of the starter template you began from
  • Change-log — 1–3 bullets describing what you changed and why
  • Your remix link — a published, shareable URL to your version
  • Ethics check — confirm your submission contains no PII or real client data
  • 140-character reflection — what did this process reveal about collaborative tool-building?
